SIIH 16U & 18U Spring Selects
A fast-paced spring program for high-level players preparing for the next step, including those interested in competing for the SIIH Central States Prospects team in the fall.
Program Overview
SIIH Spring Selects is designed for motivated, competitive players looking for a structured, high-tempo spring environment. Sessions will emphasize pace, execution, and habits that translate to the next level of play.

Player Eligibility
- 16U: Players born in 2010 or 2011
- 18U: Players born in 2008 or 2009

18U Head Coach: Clint Phelps
Head coaches will be supported by a mix of experienced IceHawks and TBL coaches throughout the spring.
Tryout Information
Location: McKendree Metro Rec Plex
- March 3 – 16U: 7:15 PM | 18U: 8:30 PM
- March 4 – 16U: 6:30 PM | 18U: 7:45 PM
Tryout Cost: $30
All players are guaranteed one tryout skate. Cuts may be made after the first night.

- Dates: March 12 – May 7
- No Ice: April 2
- Location: McKendree Metro Rec Plex

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be registered?
Yes, each player needs to register and provide their USA Hockey number. You will not be allowed on the ice if you are not registered.
Where do you skate out of?
The majority of our home games and practices will be at either the McKendree Metro Rec Plex in Ofallon, IL or at the R.P. Center in Edwardsville, IL. Most of the away games will be played in the Chicago area.

SIIH 16U & 18U Spring Selects
The SIIH 16U & 18U Spring Selects program is a fast-paced, competitive spring hockey experience designed for players looking to continue their development beyond the winter season. This program is ideal for players who thrive in a high-tempo environment and may be interested in competing for the SIIH Central States Prospects team in the fall.
Spring Selects will focus on pace, execution, hockey IQ, and habits that translate to higher levels of play. Practices will be demanding, competitive, and detail-oriented, providing players with a strong development opportunity during the spring months.

Both teams will be supported by a mix of experienced IceHawks and TBL coaches, bringing a high level of instruction and consistency throughout the program.

Select players may be invited to participate in a spring tournament as part of this program.
Tournament participation is not guaranteed for all players
